Computer Literacy

This course will provide students with an introduction to information technology.  Topics will include, hardware, software, data, communications, security and ethical issues associated with technology.  Students will be given hands on instruction on using an operating system and an introduction to Microsoft Office. 

Web Design

The Web Design track provides instruction on creating web pages using various types of software.   The curriculum includes courses in Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Dreamweaver, WordPress and Joomla.  Participants will learn about File Transfer Protocol (FTP), domain registration and web hosting.

Multimedia

The multimedia track provides instruction on digital photography, video editing and audio editing.  Participants will learn about camera handling, lighting and composition.  In addition, instruction will be provided on how to "make beats" and create musical compositions.  

                         

Business Productivity

The business productivity track provides instruction in Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Database Management Systems and Presentation software.  This course will explore commercial software like the Microsoft Office Suite as well as open source and free alternatives.

            

PC Building / Troubleshooting

This track teaches participants how to build their own computer.  Instruction will be provided on installing, configuring and troubleshooting processors, random access memory (RAM), storage, expansion cards and peripheral devices.  

Web Technologies

This track will provide participants with instruction on the exciting and emerging technologies.  It will explore Social Networking, Blogging, Virtual Worlds, as well as video chatting.  This course is designed for "newbies".
